Ask the Foot Doc – Healing a Broken Toe

Question:
How long should a broken toe be bandaged for it to heal properly?

Answer:
The stability and severity of the toe fracture will determine the healing time.  This can be evaluated by an x-ray.  If stable and properly treated, most toe fractures will heal in about 4-6 weeks.  Other factors that can affect the healing time of a broken bone include nutrition and smoking.

If you have a foot injury or suspect a toe fracture, call (425) 455-0936 to schedule an appointment.  At CarePlus Foot and Ankle Specialists, we have digital x-rays to diagnose any fractures.
